Welcome back to CITP. We are especially excited to welcome new members to our community.  We expect that this year will be full of important research, teaching, and service. As technology continues to shape society, it is a critical time for what we do at the center: bringing together technologists, social scientists, and policy experts to understand what is happening now, where we want to go in the future, and how to get there.

This year we will continue to run our weekly lunch seminar series on Tuesdays, starting on September 17 with a talk from me on predictability of life outcomes. We have a busy calendar of seminars, invited lectures, and conferences that will unfold over the year. If you have a great idea for an event, please speak up – many of our events start with suggestions from our affiliates. Finally, please come by the center to meet this year’s amazing class of visitors and postdocs.
