Food at 12:30 pm. Discussion begins at 12:45 pm. Everyone invited.

Ed Felten will give an informal talk about current research on how to protect users from tracking on the web. Web sites have many ways to link together a user’s activities across sites and over time. Today’s technology gives users little if any control over when and how they are tracked. Current research is investigating how to give users more control over tracking, and how to give web site publishers clearer signals about user consent.
