Join us for a panel discussion on the evolving legal, policy, and technical issues associated with the use of personal mobile devices for work. The panelists will explore the tension between the need to protect business information (including personal information for which businesses are responsible) and respect for users’ privacy and personal content. The current advantages and limitations of “sandboxing” technology will be covered, focusing on opportunities for enhanced information security (on the business side) and privacy (on the personal side).
The panelists will be Keith Epstein, General Attorney & Associate General Counsel Advanced Mobility Solutions, AT&T Services, Inc.; Bart Huffman, Privacy & Data Security Practice, Locke Lord LLP; and Andy Aiello, Chief Operating Officer of OpenPeak, Inc., which provides multimedia touch-screen device and device management platforms.
Bios:
Keith Epstein
General Attorney & Associate General Counsel, AT&T Services, Inc.
Mr. Epstein joined Pacific Bell in 1983, and has served in various Legal, Regulatory and Marketing positions for SBC and AT&T, including having responsibility for Internet Services, Information Access and Broadband Services, Network Integration, Data Local Exchange Carrier (DLEC), Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC), Long Distance, Voice over IP, IP-TV, Carrier Access Management, Public Policy Development and Corporate Compliance.
Mr. Epstein is currently AT&T’s chief counsel for Advanced Mobility Solutions, where his duties include development and implementation of legal and public policy strategies pertaining to the development of wireless applications for business customers.
Mr. Epstein received his B.A. from the University of California at Davis in 1980, and his J.D. from the University of Santa Clara in 1983. Mr. Epstein is admitted to practice law in California, Texas and New Jersey.
Bart Huffman
Locke Lord LLP
Mr. Huffman heads up Locke Lord LLP’s Privacy and Data Security practice. He has an intellectual property and commercial litigation background. Mr. Huffman focuses on privacy and Internet counseling, compliance, litigation, technology and data licensing, and related commercial services agreements. He obtained a B.S.E from Princeton University, with a Certificate in Engineering & Management Systems, and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Mr. Huffman is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (Intl. Assoc. of Privacy Professionals), and he is registered before the U.S.P.T.O. and admitted to practice in Texas, New York, and California and before many federal district and appellate courts.
Andy Aiello
Chief Operating Officer, Open Peak
Andy Aiello is Chief Operating Officer of OpenPeak, a market leading Enterprise Mobility Management company, where he leads the product design, development, delivery, and support organizations. Formerly, Mr. Aiello was executive member of Microsoft’s Communications Sector where he developed strategic sales and delivery partnerships around Mobile Devices, Service Delivery Platforms, MSN, and IPTV. Prior to that, Mr. Aiello was Senior Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Micromuse, which was acquired by IBM after a successful IPO, and an executive of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and Accenture’s Telecommunications and Media Practices.
