Irene Cheng
Former Managing Director, Lazard Asset Management
Irene Cheng’s background in finance spans over thirty years in asset management. Most recently, she was a managing director at Lazard Asset Management, with investment responsibility for global public equity portfolios. Prior to joining Lazard in 2003, she was a managing director at Deutsche Bank and before that Scudder Stevens & Clark, managing retail and institutional portfolios in international equities. She has also worked in private equity with The Blackstone Group, and as a research analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein (now AllianceBernstein), and Exxon Corporation. Cheng has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, a S.M. in chemical engineering from MIT, and a B.A. summa cum laude in chemistry from Harvard.
