CITP is pleased to announce the availability of funding for Princeton undergraduate and graduate student internships in information technology policy.
You can get a better sense of the range of information technology policy issues by looking at the center’s events and Freedom to Tinker blog. Examples of relevant issues include policy surrounding the Internet of things, artificial intelligence, encryption, net neutrality, protections for data privacy, use of technologies for civic goals, open government data, and intellectual property laws governing digital technology.
We do not fund internships that are purely entrepreneurial, such as work for a start-up that has no policy connections.
Current Princeton undergraduates may apply for this scholarship to support their internships involving information technology policy. Recipients will be selected through a competitive review process. The amount of funding provided will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
If you are interested, please go to the SAFE website and complete the application for the “CITP Norman B. Tomlinson Jr. ’48 Scholarships for Internships in Information Technology Policy.” This application will require you to provide a short description of your internship and its relationship to information technology policy and a statement of the amount of funds you are requesting and other potential or existing sources of funding.
We will accept applications during the spring semester from February 1 until April 15, but we will review them on a rolling basis, so please apply as early as possible for full consideration.
Current Princeton graduate students in any field may apply for this scholarship to support their internships or summer research involving information technology policy.
