In a new paper entitled "Citizen preferences for online hate speech regulation" authored by Professor Andy Guess and colleagues, researchers run a study to explore regulation preferences around online hate speech and in-group bias. "In a world that is increasingly digitally connected, hate speech has become a central concern across the globe. Using thousands of synthetic social media posts and putting participants into the role of a content moderator, this study breaks ground by providing rich evidence on public preferences for what should or should not be allowed online."
