June 20, 2025 "Across the U.S., app-based workers find themselves at the mercy of black-box algorithms that determine their wages, tasks, and employment status with little transparency. Through our research at the WAO, Princeton University’s Center for Information Technology Policy (CITP) and the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) group, we’re investigating how opaque AI and algorithmic decisions impact rideshare drivers, building tools to support workers and labor organizers in the gig economy, and advocating for meaningful transparency measures that can support oversight of algorithmically mediated work."
