Can I Choose My Own Office Office Space Fellows, postdocs and visiting professors cannot choose their own offices. Please note the CITP has limited space, so many visitors/postdocs/students are in group offices. Can I Receive My netID Early? OIT Controls netID Allocation The Office of Information Technology assigns Dean of the Faculty hires’ netID up to 90 in advance of the appointment start date. Human Resource hires do not get their netID until approximately six days in advance of the start date. CITP has no control over when the netID is assigned. How Long Will I Be Able to Access My Princeton Email When My Appointment Ends? Email Forwarding The amount of time your email will remain active depends on your appointment status. Please see this webpage for more information while you are currently employed, as you have to log-in. Please make sure you set up email forwarding before leaving Princeton. Where Can I Change My Personal Information, Find a Copy of My Pay Stub(s), W-2, Benefit Information, etc.? Princeton Self-service Go to the HR Self Service page and a log-in. Click on the down arrow at the top in the box that may say “CS Admin” and change it to HR Self Service. When Can I Move Into My Office and How Long Can I Stay After my Appointment? Office occupancy We try to be as flexible as possible, but what this means is that we’re being flexible to outgoing fellows as well as the next group coming in. For this reason, the date when you can move in or out is treated on a case-by-case basis. It’s best to check with Laura if you plan to arrive earlier than September 1 or you’d like to stay in Princeton past your end date. Can I Mail Packages in Advance of My Coming to Princeton? Hiring Students Yes, you can hire a student to be a research assistant. If you would like to do this, Please reach out to Laura, and she will assist you with placing an ad, setting the pay rate, and determining if a specific student is qualified to work at the University. Can I Bring My Pet to the Office? Pet Policy Since some staff, faculty and new yearly visitors have allergies, we ask that members of the CITP community not bring their pets to their offices regularly. Please see the Pet Guidelines for more information. Do I Have to Pay for Parking? Parking North or Stadium Garages Visit the Transportation and Parking department for updated information. The University assigns one parking space per person. Typically, the assigned lot is the North (closest to Sherrerd) or Stadium garages. Can I Apply for Grants through Princeton? Applying for Grants Yes, but it needs to be done through the proper channels and all grant applications must be processed and approved by the Office of the Dean of Research. Postdocs cannot be PIs, so a CITP faculty or appropriate staff member will need to serve in this capacity. Only the Dean for Research can accept awards. Please discuss all grant requests/applications with Laura before applications are submitted and leave time for the approval process to be completed. What Are the University's Standard Working Hours? Working Hours Normal working hours during the academic year are 8:45 a.m. – 5 p.m. The summer work schedule is 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and begins the Monday after commencement and ends the last week in August before Labor Day.
