FAQs – Annual Call for Fellows

Can I apply to more than one position?
Yes, if you meet the criteria listed in the position description you can apply for multiple positions.

What degrees are required for each position:
• Postdoctoral Research Associate or more senior IT policy researcher:  Ph.D.
• Visiting IT Policy Fellow:  Advanced degree, i.e., master’s, J.D., or Ph.D.
• Microsoft Visiting Research Scholar/Visiting Professor of IT Policy:  Ph.D. or J.D.

What positions are considered visiting positions?
The Visiting IT Policy Fellow and the Microsoft Visiting Research Scholar/Visiting Professor of IT Policy. Please note you must be on leave from another institution to be considered for either of these visiting positions. We require documentation from your home institution stating that you are on leave during your entire appointment period while here at CITP.

I’m about to finish my Ph.D. Which position should I apply for?
You can apply for the Postdoctoral Research Associate position, but you cannot begin the position without completion and proof of Ph.D.

I don’t have a Ph.D. Which position can I apply for?
You can only apply for the Visiting IT Policy Fellow position. Again, please note you must be on leave from another institution to be considered for a visiting position. We require documentation from your home institution stating that you are on leave during your entire appointment period while here at CITP.

I’m not visiting from any other institution. Which position can I apply for?
You can apply for the Postdoctoral Research Associate or more senior IT policy researcher position, but you are required to have a Ph.D. for this position.

Is the Microsoft Visiting position open to all faculty ranks?
Yes.
